January Reset
The holi-daze are over, the deep cold has set in, January quietly rolls along. I’m not one for resolutions so much as resetting. Gave the studio a deep clean, returning it to usable. What better metaphor for a new year than a clean drawing board?
Somewhere in these 8 degree nights is the clue to the next thing, the next stage, the next work. Been thinking about found objects, reclaimed materials, sculpture, and the absurdity of placing things on pedestals. Why absurd? Placement is important. It creates a lot of context. Pedestals don’t feel right, too sterile. Time to get dirty. Yes, clean drawing board = get dirty.
